CORE MODEL MONI B: Not the Average Model!

I always have the pleasure of being around beautifal women...because of me being in the Core DJs...the Core Models are some of the most beautifal women from around the world...with that being said...There is a new model on the scene that is actually from Wilmington, NC and you know I had to get her on Bigg B's World! Welcome Moni B!

Moni B..How did you get into the world of modeling?
* I never considered my self to be a 'model.' However I am grateful to my family and friends that saw something in me that I didn't. I started out with Black Barbie Ent. From there I began participating as an Escape Model and Gaddy Girl and now I am a Core Model. This is just the beginning.

Were you ever discouraged from modeling?
* There were times that I second guessed myself. I would compare myself to other models and think that maybe I wasn't good enough. Along with me growing as a woman I started to understand that there is one me, and I am unique in my own way. I learned to love myself and everything about me. In the field of modeling you have to have a tough skin but most importantly believe in yourself when no one else does.
How do you feel about the model industry labeling women of color with curves "Urban Models?"
 * Women of color are known to have curves and be voluptuous. We are the definition of 'eye candy."  Not all of us are a size 2 or 3 and we don't fit that typical runway model prototype. Often times we are labeled as "urban models" however that does not limit what we are capable of doing.

There is a trend of new models that are dark-skinned, curvy, and not as tall as the 6ft runway model do you think that's a good thing?
 * I am a brown skinned model that is far from 6 ft tall. I think it is great that the modeling industry is welcoming a variety of skin tones  height, weight, etc. Each and every woman is different and each woman has their own version of what it is to be sexy. That in itself is beautiful!
Now, I have seen your curves but you have brains to match...tellem what university you graduated from...also you are a Sorority woman...lettem know...
 * It's very important to be as attractive mentally as it is physically. I graduated from UNC-Wilmington in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies. I was very active while on campus. while there I became a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. (EEEEEee-yip) in the Fall of 2006. I was also a member of NAACP as well as the Black Student Union.

As a model do you have to be mindful of who is really trying to do business and who is trying to holla?
*I think that it is very important to distinguish the two. From the beginning you have to make sure that it is understood that you are about your business. Once that line is crossed, it is very hard to steer back to business. If someone cannot understand that you are business only or you feel uncomfortable in a business situation then more than likely it's not a situation you want to put yourself in.
What do you think is your most attractive feature?
*I would have to say my most attractive feature are my eyes.
Single or in a relationship? Is it hard being in a relationship being the model that you are?
*I am currently single, however as a model it can be hard to be in a relationship for many different reasons. That's why it is important to be with someone who understands and respects what you do.
How does a guy catch Moni B's eye (without being Bigg B lol)?
*LOL! Well... I am very picky when it comes to men. I haven't always been that way, but you learn from your mistakes. I  love a gentleman.  Be yourself and know how to understand a woman's mind and the way that she loves. I love a momma's boy, chances are they learned first hand how to treat a woman.
I'm witnessing you grow into a very professional model...where are you going from here...or what do you want to do on the model tIip?
*I am growing, but there is so much more to learn. I have been honored to be a part of the Core DJ organization so I have great experience and mentors to learn from. This is just the beginning but you will definitely be seeing more of Mon!B.
How can we see more of Moni B??  give us the twitter, facebook fan page, instagram etc...
 * You can keep up with me on both Twitter and Instragram @iammonib. I'll follow back!
